THE BROADWAY MUSICALS YEARBOOK 2003 (RADIO PROGRAM PROMO)

“The Broadway Musicals Yearbook” will be heard on Artsound FM 92.7 at 5pm on Sunday 4 July and repeated at 11pm on Monday 5 July.  The show is produced and narrated by Len Power, Canberra theatre critic, music critic and radio presenter.

This week – the musicals of 2003

2003 was a great year for memorable shows on Broadway.   Stephen Schwartz’s ‘Wicked’ wowed audiences, Hugh Jackman burst onto Broadway in ‘The Boy From Oz’, ‘Avenue Q’ was a huge hit and Boy George’s ‘Taboo’ created controversy.

Songs in this program include ‘It’s A Fine, Fine Line’ (Stephanie D’Abruzzo), ‘Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?’ (George O’Dowd), ‘Everything Old Is New Again’ (Hugh Jackman) and ‘Defying Gravity’ (Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel).
