“The Broadway Musicals Yearbook” will be heard on Artsound FM 92.7 at 5pm on Sunday 20 June and repeated at 11pm on Monday 21 June. The show is produced and narrated by Len Power, Canberra theatre critic, music critic and radio presenter.
This week – the musicals of 1995
1995 saw Julie Andrews return to Broadway in ‘Victor/Victoria’. There was also a revue of songs by Lieber and Stoller called ‘Smokey Joe’s Café’. Two revivals of classic shows also opened – Matthew Broderick in ‘How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying’ and ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ with KT Sullivan.
